The UK Public Affairs Council (UKPAC) promotes and upholds effective self-regulation for those professionally engaged in public affairs.
Born out of the Public Administration Select Committee's recommendation for there to be a public register of lobbyists, UKPAC was created by three representative bodies in the industry: the Association of Professional Political Consultants (APPC); the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR); and the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA)*. Other bodies may join UKPAC if they wish. UKPAC is overseen by a board comprising three independent members, including the Chairman, and representatives of each of the industry bodies.
